Last time I painted a room was when we were preparing my daughter’s room for her arrival. Exiting and happy as the occasion was, it was punctuated with frustration, wasted time, and mess. Paint sloshed in the floor when I stirred it and dripped down the side of the can when I poured it. I did wipe the glops from the rim before I lidded it for the night, but nevertheless when I went to do the second coat it was glued fast. So when it came time to paint the living room, my enthusiasm over home improvement was significantly dampened by the prospect of reliving my tussles with the paint can. Apparently my husband was even more cowed at the prospect—probably because the frustration I didn’t vent on the paint cans inevitably ended up hurtling his way. Anyway, on the eve of my living room transformation,
he presented me with a Lid/Stir. I was initially non-plussed, wishing instead for an offer to paint it himself. But I have to say that this little gadget eliminated all of my paint drip frustrations beautifully, and also mixed the paint better than I ever could with the flimsy wooden stirrers. It has a mixer built in under the lid—you use a drill or kitchen mixer to rotate it and it does an awesome job of mixing the paint. Because it’s under a lid, not one drop sloshes out! When you’re ready to pour, it has a closeable spout that your pour through—paint goes where you want it to and not down the side of the can. Next day, no need to remove the lid—just open and pour. When the paint is gone, simply remove Lid/Stir with ease—never dripped or sloshed, so isn’t glued to the can. I didn’t have any frustrations to vent at all! Not sure if he found that for my benefit or his, but it made life a lot easier around here for everyone! http://www.buylidstir.com
